At the cofrnece, Ehud Olmert, the leader of Kadima said
The choice between allowing Jews to live in all parts of the land of Israel and living in a state with a Jewish majority mandates giving up parts of the Land of Israel," he said. "We cannot continue to control parts of the territories where most of the Palestinians live.
Israel will keep security zones, main settlement blocs, and places important to the Jewish people, first of all, Jerusalem, united under Israeli control. There can be no Jewish state without Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty
Israel supports the establishment of a democratic and "modern Palestinian state" but Olmert also emphasized the Palestinians would receive independence only if they bring a complete halt to attacks on Israel.
The brand new moustache wearing Mark Latham of isreali politics said this
Every citizen who wants to leave his home in Judea and Samaria will be fairly compensated in a way that will allow him and his family to open a new chapter in their lives. Those who want to build a new home will find an outstretched and supportive hand
Peretz also vowed to increase the minimum wage without imposing any new taxes.
If you believe that it's possible to exist on NIS 3,300 a month, vote for [Acting Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert," Peretz said. "Whoever thinks otherwise, vote for Labor."
I’m still waiting for anyone to explain to me the difference between these two parties, apart from spin. They have the same message and will surely end up forming a coalition.

I didn't metion likud in that last post. Here's what Bibi has to say today.
"The state of 'Hamastan' has been created before our eyes - an Iranian satellite state in the image of the Taliban. It was created in close proximity to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Ben-Gurion International Airport. We need to do some soul-searching, because the writing was on the wall. A policy of unilateral withdrawal rewarded Hamas terror."
Earlier Thursday, Likud said that the Hamas victory was a direct result of the disengagement plan and that Palestinians concluded from the Gaza pullout that terror and violence are the means to achieving diplomatic gains.
"The plan by Kadima and Labor for an additional unilateral withdrawal from the West Bank reflects a complete blindness to reality. [Acting Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert and Kadima are establishing a Hamas terror state that will be an Iranian offshoot, only a few kilometers from Israeli population centers," according to Likud.
Ittay: Personally, I can't quite make out the difference between Avoda and Kadima's platforms either. If one is to take what has been said @ the conference seriously it looks like we're going to have a pretty strong, right-winged government with Kadima in charge and Ehud Olmert dealing with the pallis with an iron fist...but Olmert is known to be all about words and I imagine Kadima will easily win the elections, forming a coalition with Labor.
Lately, I've been thinking over whom exactly I will vote for. I'm leaning in the direction of either the Likud or the Eihud Ha'leumi. What do u think? Whom should I vote for? Take into consideration what you know of my political positions and the latest comments I've made online.
Be'tikva, Eitan.
